Sifu Peter Scheers began training Southern Praying Mantis Kung Fu in 1992 in Trenton, NJ under Russell Chell. After receiving his graduate degree from Boston University in 1997, he moved to his wife’s hometown, St. Louis, MO. To share his traditional Chinese Kung Fu, Sifu Scheers began teaching in 1998. In November, 2001, Sifu Scheers became an “Enter the Gate” student of Master Henry “Poo” Yee. August of 2002, we opened our commercial martial arts school in St. Louis at our current location. Master Yee comes to St. Louis once a year to conduct a seminar and meet the students. Sifu Scheers continues to train with Master Yee and his Kung Fu brothers through seminars, private training, and the yearly student reunion at the school headquarters in Houston, TX.
Other credentials: Member of Traditional Kung Fu Wu Shu Federation 2004, Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, Certified Assault Response Trainer for Dept. of Mental Health.
